After finally getting into training at Vance and then
finally getting out of training at Vance, I was sent to Little Rock Ark. to
learn to fly the mighty C-130. Well,
I managed to get through that ordeal and then landed at Dyess AFB in Abilene,
Tx. where I spent the rest of my flying days. (Join the Air Force and see the
world). I logged a little over
5,000 hours flying mostly in North America and Europe. I thought I had this deal figured out when I made Instructor
Pilot and Operations Officer (This meant I could pick and choose which mission
I went on). After about a year of
service to my country in this capacity, the powers that be, decided that I
should do some career broadening. (Two years in a non-flying job in Turkey)
As a result I decided to change careers!
I went to work in the oil and gas industry and my flying days were
suddenly over. I am still in this business, now working for BJ Services out
of Dallas And living in Waxahachie, just South of Dallas.
I am married to a beautiful (see picture) and wonderful lady who has
made my life complete. Debbie and I have four grown boys and the sweetest, smartest,
and most beautiful granddaughter in the world, Katlyn (no bias here, just
facts – see picture). Debbie
and I are avid golfers and play every chance we get.
You would think we would eventually get better at the game.
We are planning on retiring in Jan 2007, and spending all our time
playing golf, traveling, and spoiling the grandkids. (We expect many more).
